PEDAS MODULES

More than just a sofa, Pedas is a modular system conceived as a set of sensual, comfortable shapes that can be adapted to any type of space. It features wide armrests, deep, plump seats and a singular detail: pieces of fabric added to the lower ends of each module, inspired by the techniques of Occitan seamstresses: the pedas in langue d’oc is a piece of cloth or leather traditionally used to mend clothes.

DESIGNER: Jean Louis Iratzoki

Born in Saint Jean de Luz in 1965, Jean Louis Iratzoki is a graduate of the École Boulle and the Escuela Experimental in Madrid. In 1998, he founded his design studio in the Basque Country, working closely with a small circle of companies, large and small, contributing to their transformation. The studio, made up of a multidisciplinary team, works in a former workshop around a large table. It seeks a balance between economic performance and social and environmental commitment, convinced of the social role of design. His work covers furniture, textiles, lighting, ephemeral architecture and accessories. His collaborations include Alki, Treku, Sokoa, Forge Adour, Retegui and Teknion. His responsible approach aims to create sustainable, sensitive and emotional pieces.
