Obsession with detail.<\/h2>\n

Above and beyond what is imposed on us by the ethics of craftsmanship and the functionality inherent in the very essence of design, the BOSC collections are distinguished by a systematic search for the detail that brings uniqueness and character to each piece. Our starting point is wood. Always.
Then comes the search for volumes and singular, distinctive shapes. Finally, there’s color, with a desire to find highlights and harmonies that go beyond palettes of beige. Harmonies that, rather than focusing on ephemeral fashions, reflect the zeitgeist and macro-trends of our times. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A family affair.<\/h2>\n

For 3 generations, the Bastiat family has been dedicated to the manufacture of seating. Bastiat was founded on April1, <\/span>1964 by Marcelle and Joseph Bastiat. They had met and learned their trade at the Capdevielle factory. One in the joinery workshop, the other in the finishing workshop. <\/p>\n

Their children, Alain and Michel, grew up surrounded by wood chips, the smell of wood, tools, fabrics and varnishes. In 2000, Alain took over the management of the company with his wife Genevi\u00e8ve. At the time, Bastiat was a well-known manufacturer of classic chairs. <\/p>\n

In 2014, they decided to create Bosc, a contemporary furniture brand. In 2022 Sylvain, their son, joins them to ensure the brand’s international development. <\/p>\n

Sourcing.<\/h2>\n

The origin of the wood we use is of paramount importance to us. Oak comes from the eco-managed forests of Sologne. Beech comes from the eco-managed forests of the Jura. Walnut comes from Canada. 95% of our fabrics are natural (linen, wool, cotton) and European. <\/p>\n

Obsession with detail.   Above and beyond what is imposed on us by the ethics of craftsmanship and the functionality inherent in the very essence of design, the BOSC collections are distinguished by a systematic search for the detail that brings uniqueness and character to each piece. A family affair.   For 3 generations, the Bastiat family has been dedicated to the manufacture of seating. Bastiat was founded on April1, 1964 by Marcelle and Joseph Bastiat. They had met and learned their trade at the Capdevielle factory. One in the joinery workshop, the other in the finishing workshop.
