We are delighted to announce that Bosc has reached a significant milestone in the order of 1500 chairs for the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris with the completion of the 1000th chair. These chairs, designed by the talented Breton designer Ionna Vautrin, are the result of meticulous craftsmanship by our expert woodworkers.
Machining, sanding, assembling, marking, staining, and adding brass components—many steps are required to create these pieces. This meticulous process ensures exceptional quality, worthy of this prestigious location. In addition to the 1500 chairs, we are also manufacturing benches to complement the cathedral’s furniture.
“The decision of the Archbishop of Paris to trust us with the realization of the chairs designed by Ionna Vautrin is a strong marker that recognizes the expertise we have been cultivating for 60 years and our commitment to the sustainability of French forests. As a historic manufacturer of chairs, sofas, and armchairs in wood, it is now unthinkable for us to use wood without guaranteeing that it comes from sustainably managed forests. This is certified by PEFC FRANCE.” – Sylvain Bastiat
A big thank you to Roxanne Dupouy for the magnificent photo report made in our workshops in Hagetmau.
